02 Oct Junior Police Cadet Programme
15 of our Year 8 pupils completed a 7 week programme as junior Police Cadets. The pupils started the course by receiving their uniforms and pocket books and then had a fun filled evening learning and then practicing their resuscitation techniques for adults, children and infants. The school library was filled with the sounds of ‘Staying Alive’ and ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ as pupils learned the correct rhythm for chest compressions. In subsequent weeks pupils had the opportunity to do forensic work, develop- their communication skills as well as investigate the scene of the crime at a mocked up Road Traffic Accident. Pupils completed the programme at a passing out parade during the annual school awards evening.
