The RSA Academies’ Teaching School Alliance recruits and trains new entrants to the teaching profession, identifies leadership potential, and provides support for schools across the West Midlands, to transform outcomes for young people and bring about positive social change. We drive action research, undertake innovations in teaching, and optimise the talents and commitment of our staff to develop creative ways of providing education.
Our Teaching School Alliance is led by three outstanding schools, all of which are designated National Teaching Schools. They are RSA Academy Arrow Vale, in Redditch; Holyhead School in Birmingham; and Whitley Academy in Coventry. We also work in partnership with the RSA, and with secondary and primary schools across the region. You’re very welcome to find out more about who we’re working with.
Alliance partners will have expressed an active interest in the work of the Teaching School Alliance, and will stand to benefit from it and on some occasions support the RSA Academies’ Teaching School to perform aspects of our role.
Alliance partners do not have to meet the Teaching School eligibility criteria. If providing support to the Teaching School Alliance you will need to show that you have the competence and capacity to provide high quality support in a particular area. This might include Initial Teacher Training, Continuing Professional Development or Leadership Development provision.
Alliance Partners will receive all training at a discounted rate and will be financially compensated for leading training and support. Organisations that access support from the Teaching School Alliance will need to pay for that support and agree to its impact being evaluated.
Alliance Partners include:
- Other schools from any phase or sector
- Universities
- Academy chains
- Local Authorities
- Dioceses
